Two documents, one stay

Every non-EU stay rests on two papers: a visa, issued by the consulate abroad to authorise entry, and a permesso di soggiorno, filed within eight days of arrival at the Questura to authorise the stay itself.

Six legal grounds

Italy admits non-EU nationals on distinct grounds: elective residency for passive income, the digital nomad visa, the investor visa, work routes through the decreto flussi, study and research, and family reunification.

Right ground, not any door

The wrong ground stalls at renewal, when the Questura reassesses the conditions behind it. We match your circumstances to a basis that holds: correctly grounded in law, coherent, and renewable year after year.

From entry to permanence

The first permit usually runs one to two years and renews on the same basis. Five years of regular residence (with an A2 Italian test) opens EU long-term residence; ten years opens citizenship by naturalisation.

Three costly myths

A Schengen tourist visa cannot become a long-stay permit from inside Italy. Buying property is not a residence ground, only supporting proof. Marriage shortens the citizenship clock; it does not hand over a passport.

Map your options

Tell us your situation in a short call. We read it against every route, then match it to the legal ground that fits, rather than forcing your life to fit a visa.
